Kluane Research Station– Research and Education Advisory Committee

CAFN is seeking one CITIZEN for the Kluane Research Station’s (KRS) recently established Research and Education Advisory Committee (REAC). Note that this will be a shared appointment, with a staff (to be designated) attending board meetings with, and otherwise assisting the appointed citizen.
The committee is advisory in nature, and comprised of representatives of the local First Nations, Yukon government and research agencies, scientists/station users, the wider community of northern scientific stations, and the Arctic Institute & University of Calgary.
The committee’s purpose is to improve the effectiveness of the research station and to better integrate it with the many communities it serves. The committee will help to define the research and education programs supported by the research station by identifying research gaps and priorities, opportunities for capacity building, as well as effective means of communication between the parties connected to the research station.
We are seeking a Citizen with awareness of CAFN values and traditional knowledge and familiarity of the CAFN Traditional Territory.

Term: three years
