CAFN Hosting Kluane Candidate Forum October 25 at Da Kų

Dakwäkäda (Haines Junction), Yukon – The Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN) is hosting a forum for the candidates campaigning to represent the Kluane electoral district in the November 7 territorial election.
“We are interested in understanding the candidates’ positions and how they will work with CAFN and the whole community,” said Dän nätthe ada Kaaxnox (Chief Steve Smith). “Everyone in the Kluane area is invited and welcome to attend. We hope many people will come join us at Da Kų Cultural Centre on October 25.”
CAFN is hosting the 2016 Kluane Candidate Forum to encourage its Citizens and residents of the Kluane area to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming territorial election. The First Nation wants to make sure CAFN Citizens and the broader community have an opportunity to learn more about the candidates and cast an informed vote when electing the next Kluane Member of Legislative Assembly.
All three candidates for the Kluane area have agreed to participate. The candidates are: incumbent Wade Istchenko, Yukon Party; Mathieya Alatini, Liberal; and Sally Wright, NDP.
The Kluane Candidate Forum will be moderated by Dave Joe and starts at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, at Da Kų Cultural Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend.
