Artist In Residence (2 Positions)
Term Part-Time – 26.25 hours per week (June 11 – October 2018)
Salary: $23.00 – $25.99 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Location: Haines Junction
The Artist in Residence is a community based position that develops both artistic and business related skills. The position provides daily demonstrations to tourists and community members, delivers workshops, and acts as an ambassador for the CAFN, showcasing both modern and traditional art forms in their exhibits. The position will build skills in art product development, marketing, business administration, self-promotion and portfolio development, culture and language. This position is intended to develop positive individual, community, and lifestyle choices through exploring career and educational paths and work/life development.
Education and Experience:
No education is required, though grade 10 is preferred. Experience as a contemporary, traditional, emerging or master Indigenous artist is required.
Conditions of Employment:
Completion of an intake with the Dän Tsʼänānän program is required.
Willingness to obtain all required safety and program certifications, as identified by Dän Tsʼänānän.
