Kloo Lake Ice Patch Research Group Retreat

Dates July 30 – August 2, 2024

Location: Kloo Lake

You will be required to submit an updated resume with copies of any and all certification of Food Safe Levels and First Aid where applicable.

Head Cook (1) 5 days

Dates: July 29 – August 2, 2024

Salary: $350. Per day x 5 days

Location: Kloo Lake

Duties: Plan menu, purchase & haul food, store, prep & cook breakfasts, bag lunches & dinners with snacks as required in a timely manner each day for up to 30 people. Must include gluten/dairy & vegetarian options as required. Must have Food Safe Certification and ensure kitchen staff follow Food Safe requirements.:

  • Oversee the set-up, cleaning & dismantling of a camp trailer cooking area.
  • Ability to store, prepare & cook in a trailer
  • Oversee; eating area is clean & set up for breakfasts & dinners.
  • Oversee; clean up upon completion of the event.
  • Leftover groceries must be returned to department.
  • Other related duties


Assistant Cook (1) 4.5 days

Dates: July 29 – August 2, 2024

Salary: $300.00 per day x 5 days

Duties:  Take direction from the Head Cook, the Cook’s Assistant will be required to assist with the duties listed above & ensure all meals & snacks prep & delivery in a timely manner each day. Must have Food Safe Certification. They will assist with:

  • Preparing of food & packing lunches.
  • Set up and dismantling of serving area.
  • Serve & clean up after meals.
  • Assist with the cleaning of the trailer & surrounding area.
  • Ensure all dishes, pots & pans, utensils are cleaned and put away upon completion of the project.
  • Other related duties
