Competition #21-22-23 Supported Childcare Workers

Term Full-Time, June 1, 2021 – September 30, 2021 with possibility of extension
Salary: Level 4 – starting at $24.12/hour

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Daycare Manager, this position will be responsible for promoting good health in the child being cared for and ensures a safe, healthy physical environment. This position is also responsible for creating a learning environment that meets the emotional, physical, social and cognitive needs of the child. The Supported Child Care Worker is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the progress of the behaviour support plan that has been created for the child, for maintaining on-going meaningful and effective communication with the parents, the Supports for children with disabilities staff and assigned contractors, the CAFN Director of Education, the Child Development Centre, and the school.

Education and Experience:
Some university level coursework is desirable with minimum level 1 of the Early Childhood Development program and willingness to continue additional training related to working with children with disabilities; the right candidate would have to possess a minimum of one- year experience working with children in an early childhood program or working with children with disabilities. Experience working in a cross-cultural and team environment would be an asset.

• Immunization shots are up to date
• Early Childhood Development level 1 certificate (or higher)
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends, as required
