Job Summary:
Reporting to the Däkwänjè Manager, this position provides an opportunity to mentor under the Dan K’e Kwänje Ghàkenūdän Adult Intensive Program Instructors and Elders to learn practical application of language acquisition instruction and land based learning methodologies. In an apprenticeship role, the incumbent will have a variety of opportunities such as but not limited to; ongoing language development, facilitation skills, classroom management, interviewing and transcribing/translation skills, documentation, and curriculum development.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Dan K’e Kwanje Certificate program or post-secondary diploma in the field of Dan K’e Kwanje Language
- Incumbents must be Novice or low-high intermediate speakers in Southern Tutchone – in accordance with the draft CAFN ACTFL guidelines. Proficiency in reading, writing and speech is preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Records Check
- Valid First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain, Advanced Wilderness First Aid or willing ness to obtain would be an asset
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends, as required
- Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods, as directed
