Operation Nanook Opportunities in Haines Junction August 29 – September 2!
Operation Nanook activities for Haines Junction and CAFN community members this week:
August 30 – A baseball game is taking place at the St Elias Community School field. In the event of bad weather, the sports will move inside to the school gym. Tuesday at 5:30pm. We would love to see some sports enthusiasts come out! Note: please bring your baseball glove if you have one.
August 29 – Sept 2 – Camp visits happen every weeknight from 7-8pm, located at “Kluane Fire Centre”, west of Haines Junction off Hwy 1. Visitors can come see the military vehicles and equipment and get a tour of the camp from one of the soldiers.
September 2
• 11 a.m. Ceremony at the Cenotaph at the St. Elias Convention Centre;
• 3:10 p.m. Dedication/opening of the new trail between the St. Elias Community School and CAFN Youth Centre;
• 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Community Day and Barbecue at Da Ku Cultural Centre.
