Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN) is seeking Citizens to apply to participate on the CAFN Dän K’e Theory of Wellness Sub-Committee.

The Sub-Committee is responsible for providing advice and recommendations to the CAFN Citizen Services Standing Committee on matters associated with the development of a Dän K’e Theory of Wellness, in support of the Citizen Services project vision:
Dän K’e – Our Way – is our path forward, shifting away from the Indian Act and colonialism; restoring our ancestors’ vision for the future.

The Theory of Wellness Sub-Committee will:

  • Assist with the development of a holistic model of health and well-being that connects all CAFN government activity to the people it serves, especially marginalized Citizens.
  • Provide input into the “Dän K’e Theory of Wellness”, which will define what it looks like (from all facets of life) to be a successful CAFN citizen.
  • Provide input and guidance for the development of culturally appropriate services based on Indigenous teachings and ways of knowing.
  • Provide input into a visual representation of the holistic model to help motivate and sustain the changes resulting from the integration of Dän K’e.

Members:  The Theory of Wellness Sub-Committee will consist of six (6) CAFN citizen members – each representing one of our traditional communities and three (3) CAFN staff members (Senior Director Citizen Services, Director Language & Culture and Director Community Wellness).

Term:  August 2018 to March 31, 2019.

Honoraria and travel reimbursement will be provided to Citizens selected to sit on this Sub-Committee in keeping with the CAFN Boards and Committees Policy.
