In Whitehorse, YFNED and CAFN Education ESWs hosted a mini drum-making workshop with Bradley Joe in preparation for the upcoming Yukon Native Hockey Tournament. Youth created their own drums to help cheer on the CAFN Storm teams at the tournament.
CAFN was also pleased to welcome former NHL player John Chabot and the First Assist team to Dakwäkäda/Haines Junction. John and his team visited St. Elias Community School, where they spoke with students about the importance of attending classes, maintaining a positive attitude, and keeping healthy habits.
The visit continued at the rink with a hockey skills clinic, giving young players the chance to learn from former NHLers on the ice. The day wrapped up with an alumni game with the CAFN Storm, food, and time for autographs and photos. Chief Joe joined in the fun, cheering on youth and welcoming John and his team to our territory.

Together, these events highlight the commitment of Chief and Council to supporting strong, healthy, and confident youth—connecting culture, education and hockey so our young people can thrive.
