Alsek River Salmon Update
Here is the most recent update for salmon on the Alsek River from Thursday, July 27th, 2023. As of June 18, there has been a total of 194 Chinook and 19 Sockeye that have passed through the video counter on the Klukshu River. As of June 18, there has been a total of 5 Sockeye that have passed through Village Creek.

General Assembly Survey
At the 2022 General Assembly (GA), a resolution was passed to review and update the GA Procedures. This survey is the first step in that review process and is intended to gather CAFN Citizen feedback on areas of focus and options for revising the GA Procedures.
On June 23, 2023 Da Kų Nän Ts’étthèt “Our House is Waking Up the Land” Dance Festival will once again open to the public. A special 30th Anniversary Exhibit for the Dakwäkäda Dancers will also be opening at this time. Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN) is happy to invite everyone to come together again and celebrate each other.

COVID-19 Update – Kwätsi Dän plan complete and no longer in effect
On May 18, 2023 Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN) Council passed a resolution ending use of the Kwätsi Dän (We work) COVID-19 recovery plan. Kwätsi Dän COVID-19 safety measures are no longer in effect at CAFN.

LOG HOUSE BUILDING – TERM TRAINING PROJECT
We are seeking CAFN citizens to join two highly-experienced log building instructors in this training project to construct an energy efficient log home. Participants are required to have some skills in carpentry or log home construction. They must be in good physical condition & able to lift up to 25kg. Knowledge & experience working with light duty tools & machinery (saws, drills, etc.) is required. They must be available for the entire duration.
